Drug peddler arrested in G’bal, Contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that has arrested a notorious drug peddler in Ganderbal district and recovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Station Ganderbal received an input through reliable sources that one Sharief Ahmad Baba S/o Mohammad Maqbool Baba R/o GujarpatiShahpora has hoarded banned drugs in his residential house, adding therein that while acting swiftly, a Police Party led by SHO Police Station Ganderbal under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal along with Executive Magistrate First Class raided the spot and during search recovered Bungh Patri and Charas Powder from the said residential house following which the accused was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 31/2024 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Ganderbal besides which further investigation into the case was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’a above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and also reiterated it’s commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
