DC visits Mechanical Field Sub-Division Kulgam

Srinagar: Police on Sunday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party headed by SHO Police Station Tangmarg at a checkpoint established at Bus Stand Tangmarg intercepted a person identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir S/o AbHameed Mir R/o FerozporaTangmargwho tried to flee from the spot but was apprehended tactfully and during search, 35 grams of Charaswere recovered from his possession. Besides, the accused has been arrested and shifted to Police Station Tangmarg where he remains in custody.
Stating that the pol9ice had accordingly registered the case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tangmarg and later initiated investigation into the case.
In the concluding para of the above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. Police also reassuredpeople that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
