6 accused arrested for illegal Mining of Minerals in B’la, 7 vehicles also seized: Police

Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested six persons for illegal mining of minerals case at Wagoora, Hardaboora, Tarhama, Khanpora and Ferozpora Baramulla, and also seized seven vehicles (two tractors & five tippers) from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police initiated the action under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg, Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla and SDPO Kreeri assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg, SHO Police Station Kunzer, SHO Police Station Baramulla and InCharge Police Post Wagoora , adding therein that 6 drivers were arrested and identified as Irshad Ahmad Bhat S/o Abdul Ahad R/o Chanpora Wagoora, Mohd Iqbal Shah S/o Abdul Hameed, Mohd Rafiq Shah S/o Mohd Akram, both residents of Takiya Gonipora, Asif Ahmad Tantray S/o Manzoor Ahmad R/o Zoogiyar, Tariq Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Mohd R/ol Jalsheeri & Mohd Rafiq Khan S/o Gh Mohd Khan R/o Kanispora . Police in it’s statement further said it has seized two Tractors and five Tippers at Ferozpora Tangmarg.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that the drivers along with their vehicles were found involved in illegal extraction/ transportation of minerals and accordingly cases under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Stations at Tangmarg, Kunzer, Baramulla and Kreeri besides which investigation were also subsequently taken up.
