Srinagar: Police on Friday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party headed by Incharge Police Post Palhallan at a checkpoint established at Palhallan, intercepted a person identified as Aamir Ahmad Gojree @Anaconda S/o Mohammad Ramzan R/o Gojri Mohalla Palhallan and during search recovered 108 grams of Charas like substance from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action, a police party led by InCharge Police Post Mirgund, arrested a drug peddler identified as Syed Mohammad Shah S/o Syed Ismail Shah R/o Kripalpora Payeen and during search 105 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered besides initiating further investigations , Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated it’s commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
