Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla and also seized three vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla, SDPO Pattan and Tangmarg assisted by SHO Police Station Kunzer, IC PP Mirgund & Delina seized three vehicles (Tractors) and arrested three suspects identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat S/o Ghulam Rasool R/o Hardu Aboora, Fayaz Ahmad Ganie S/o Gh Hassan Ganie R/o Shirpora Pattan & Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o Abdul Salam R/o Juhama at Dhobiwan, Juhama & Singhpora Baramulla, for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and also initiated further investigation into the cases, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
