Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals case in Baramulla besides seized two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that police parties headed by SHO Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg seized two vehicles (Tippers) and arrested 2 drivers identified as Fayaz Ahmad Khan S/o Ab Majeed R/o Treran Tangmarg & Hilal Ahmad Lone S/o Manzoor Ahmad R/o Singhpora Pattan, for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kunzer & Lalpora Baramulla.
Stating that cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Kunzer besides which further investigation into the case was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and also appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
