4 gamblers arrested in B’la. Stake money also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested four gamblers and also seized stake money from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on specific inputs about gambling activities at Zoogiyar Sheeri, a police party of Police Station Sheeri headed by SHO Police Station Sheeri raided the gambling site and arrested four gamblers identified as Nazir Ahmad Sheikh S/o Abdul Rehman R/o Pehliharan, Irshad Ahmad Tantray S/o Ghulam Hassan R/o Zoogiyar, Reyaz Ahmad Bhat S/o Gh Nabi and Gh Nabi Malik S/o Ghulam Qadir, both residents of Zandfaran Sheeri, adding therein that the stake money of Rs. 6,020/- and playing cards were seized from the possession of the above named accused.
Stating that a case vide FIR No. 04/2024 was registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sheeri besides wich investigation into the case was also initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share inputs about the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
