Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested four drug peddlers and also recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Statioln Magam at a checkpoint established at Wata Magam, intercepted a suspicious vehicle bearing registration number JK05G-2152 with three persons on board identified as Abid Ahmad Bhat(Driver) S/o Ab Majid Bhat, Zeeshan Ahmad Dar S/o Fayaz Ahmad Dar and Ahitsham Ashraf Wani @Sahil S/o Mohd Ashraf Wani, all residents of Hazarpora Aripanthan were and during search 315 grams of Charas was recovered from the possession of the said accused who were arrested and the vehicle used in the commission of crime was also seized.
Stating that on the disclosure of the said accused one more drug peddler identified as Amir Ahmed Ganiee @Raja S/o Gh Ahmad Ganiee R/o Peth Kanihama was arrested and 360 grams of charas Powder was seized from his possession, Police in it’s statement further said that cases under FIR No.13/2024 under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Magam and later investigation into the case was also initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police appealed people to come forward or Dial 112 with any input about drug peddling/anti-social activity in their vicinity .
