Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has seized 14 Kgs contraband substance during a raid in Ganderbal.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on a specific input about the presence of contraband substances in the house of one Gulab Ahmad Khari S/o Gh Hussain Khari R/o Syed Basti Sarfraw, a police party of Police Station Gund along with Executive Magistrate First Class Gund raided the said location and during search recovered 14 Kgs of crushed cannabis concealed in two nylon bags from the cowshed of the accused who managed to escape from the spot and efforts are on to effect his arrest.
Stating that the police has registered a case under FIR No. 06/2024 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Gund besides which further investigation into the case has been also initiate, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reiterated it’s commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
