New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that the young voters will play a crucial role in making India a developed nation by 2047 and encourage them to participate in the electoral process.
Addressing the first-time voters via video conferencing during "Namo Navmatdata Sammelan on National Voters Day, Modi said, Your one vote has a very big power. When there is a stable and full majority government in the country, then the nation can take big decisions.
National Voters’ Day has been celebrated on January 25 every year to mark the foundation day of the Election Commission of India. Its main purpose is to encourage voters to participate in the electoral process. Today, when the country is working on the goal of becoming a developed India by 2047,
your vote will decide what the direction of India will be, he said.
The Prime Minister said that today, people talk about credibility, not corruption; success stories, not scams. Earlier, India was on the list of the five fragile economies. But today, Bharat is the fifth largest economy in the world, adding that in the coming years, India will become the top three economies in the world.
Raising concern over nepotism in politics, Modi said, With the power of your vote, you have to defeat parivarwadi parties, He said, adding that news of corruption and scams used to become headlines every day, and the scams worth crores of rupees were common.
We are satisfied that we were able to bring the country out of that dark situation. Today it is not about corruption but about credibility,the PM further added.
