DC Kulgam reviews functioning of RDD, instructs to carry intensified sanitation drives to keep Kulgam clean

Kulgam: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers and officials of Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj (RDD&PR) at mini-secretariat, here to review functioning, progress and implementation status of various schemes in the district.
During the meeting, ACD, through a PowerPoint presentation apprised the chair about the progress made under various schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY-G, District Capex, etc and informed that there are 55000 Job cards and 45800 are verified and active job cards.
The DC instructed concerned to verify the unverified job cards within a few days.
During the meeting the chair was also informed that 4322 works under MGNREGA were completed during current FY, with an expenditure of 67 crore, and against the target of 5845 units under PMAY-G, 3183 units have been completed.
It was also given out that under District Capex, out of 1904, 1756 works were completed with an expenditure of Rs. 23 crore.
The DC instructed the concerned to expedite the pace of works under District Capex, PMAY (G), MGNREGA and other works. He also instructed ACD to submit a weekly progress report of PMAY-G.
While reviewing progress under SBM, the chair was informed by ACP, that under SBM II, 11671 IHHL were constructed and against the target of 85 Community Sanitary Complexes 64 are completed.
He directed officers to carry intensified sanitation drives in all Panchayats of all 11 blocks of district to remove the legacy waste and clean water bodies, roadsides, markets and other public spaces and stressed to call public participation in making these drives sustainable.
He called for timely completion of all the works with judicious utilization of funds, while ensuring quality of work, in order to create durable assets
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Showkat Ahmad Rather; CPO, Zahid Sajjad; ACP, Shurjeel Ahmad; Exen Rew, BDOs and other officers and officials.
