Ayodhya: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday described the ‘consecration ceremony’ of Ram temple in Ayodhya as “historic” saying after centuries of unprecedented patience and countless sacrifices lord Ram has finally arrived at his rightful place.

Addressing the gathering after the ‘consecration’ ceremony at the Ram Janmaboomi Temple in this holy city, Modi said, “Today, what has happened in Ayodhya is also the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of human values, and the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the highest ideals”.

Seeking an apology from Lord Ram, Modi said, “There must be something lacking in our effort, sacrifice and penance that we could not do this work for so many centuries. Today, the work has been completed. I believe that Lord Ram will forgive us today…”

Modi further added that “Today, Ayodhya has not only witnessed the consecration of the sacred idol of Prabhu Shri Ram but also the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of the unwavering faith in Indian culture manifested in the form of Lord Ram”.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath joined Prime Minister during ‘consecration’ ceremony of Ram Lalla idol inside the sanctorum of the newly constructed Ram Mandir in Ayodhya earlier.

Remembering the contribution of the people for the construction of temple, Modi said, “We are all indebted to those countless Ram devotees, those countless kar sevaks, saints and mahatmas.”

He added that due to their dedication, the consecration ceremony has become a reality.

The Prime Minister said, “There was also a time when some people used to say that if Ram temple is built, it will catch fire such people could not understand the purity of the social spirit of India”

“The construction of this temple of Ramlala is also a symbol of peace, patience, mutual harmony, and coordination of the Indian society” he added.

On the occasion, Modi also said the country has broken free of the shackles of slavery. “Even after thousands of years, people will remember this date and moment. It’s Ram’s supreme blessings that we are witnessing it,” the Prime Minister said.

Lord Ram, he said, “is in the soul of all citizens of India” and that the entire country was celebrating Diwali today.

Modi also thanked the Supreme Court of India which paved the way for the construction of the temple by delivering the verdict on November 9, 2019.

“Ram’s existence was questioned… I would like to express my thanks to the Supreme Court for doing justice and the temple was built in accordance with the law,” he added. UNI
