Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested four persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district and also seized four vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Kunzer headed by SHO Police Station Kunzer under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg, seized 4 vehicles (tippers) and arrested their drivers identified as Gowhar Ahmad Malla S/o Gh Mohd Malla R/o Pariswani, Khursheed Ahmad Sofi S/o Mohd Subhan R/o Gonipora, Waseem Ahmad Shah S/o Mohd Amin R/o Takia Batapora & Hilal Ahmad Kambay S/o Gh Mohudin R/o Takia Batapora for their involvement in illegal transportation of minerals at Gonipora Kunzer Baramulla.
Stating that the a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Kunzer besides which further investigations into the case has also been initiate, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules and warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
