Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has booked a most wanted and notorious drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the most wanted and notorious drug smuggler namely Shoib Aijaz Guru @Shoib S/o Aijaz Ahmad Guru R/o Milat Colony Kanispora Baramulla has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority.
Stating that the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu, Police in its statement said that many a cases were registered against the said drug smuggler as he was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Town Baramulla and other areas of District, adding therein that despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police said that the people of the area have appreciated its role for their action against the drug peddlers, adding therein that efforts are on to keep society free from drug abuse.
