Green Valley Educational Institute hosts Green Valley Model United Nations-2023

Srinagar : Green Valley Educational Institute Thursday organized the Green Valley Model United Nations 2023, a dynamic platform for young minds to engage in diplomatic discourse and global affairs.
The event, held within GVEI campus, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing prestigious schools across Kashmir viz. Burn Hall, RP School, Kashmir Harvard, DPS Budgam and others.
Muhammad Aslam, Joint Director Information Kashmir was the chief guest on the occasion, and was accompanied by Burhan Hussain, Assistant Director Information Kashmir. The dignitaries shared insights on the significance of Model United Nations (MUNs) in shaping confident individuals capable of understanding the complexities of global governance.
Prof. M. Y. Ganai, Dean Social Sciences and Head Department of History at the University of Kashmir, was the guest of honour. Prof. Ganai emphasized the crucial role MUNs play in fostering an understanding of international relations and assembly concepts among students.
The Green Valley Model United Nations featured four committees named UNHRC, UNW, AIPPM, and UNSC—where participants engaged in lively discussions and debates on pressing global issues.
During the interactive sessions, both Burhan Hussain and Prof. M. Y. Ganai shared valuable insights with the participants, underlining the importance of MUNs in building confidence and enhancing their understanding of the world.
Burhan Husaain took the opportunity to acknowledge the significant contribution of children in shaping the current world and highlighted their role as global citizens in bridging the gaps that exist globally.
On the occasion, Mohammad Yousuf Wani, Chairman, Green Valley Educational Institute also emphasized the role of young diplomats in the current political world and he also assured of providing more such platforms to the students across the region so that they will be the diplomats of tomorrow.
The conference, spanning three days, will culminate in a closing ceremony on 23rd December, 2023 where outstanding delegates will be felicitated for their exemplary performances in various committees.
