Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three drug Peddlers in Sopore and Kulgam and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that in Sopore, a police party of Police Post Warpora headed by Incharge Police Party Warpora at a checkpoint established at Dangerpora Adpuji Mohalla apprehended a drug peddler identified as Sahil Bashir @lala S/o Bashir Ahmad Zargar R/o Behrampora Rafiabad and during search, recovered Psychotropic substances was recovered from the possession of the said accused who was shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action in Kulgam also, a police party headed by Incharge Police Party Mirbazar at a checkpoint established at Mirbazar Chowk intercepted a suspicious person identified as Amir Ahmad Shaikh S/o Manzoor Ahmaf Shaikh R/o Churat, Qazigund and during search recovered 1.8Kg of Poppy Straw like contraband substance concealed in a nylon bag from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in it’s statement also said that a police party headed by SHO Police Station Qaimoh at a checkpoint established at Railway Crossing Harnag intercepted a suspicious person identified as Zahoor Ahmad Khan S/o Surab Khan R/o Mudhanpor Khandria, Delhi and during search recovered 140 gram of Cannabis like contraband substance from the possession of the said who has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that the police registered cases under relevant sections of law at respective police stations and also initiated investigation into the case, Police
