Guidance-cum-Motivation: KU holds interactive session for civil services aspirants

Srinagar : To provide civil services aspirants the roadmap for appearing in civil services examinations, the Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), Kashmir University (KU) Thursday conducted an online career guidance-cum-motivational session here.
During the session, Commissioner, SMC, Srinagar, and CEO, Srinagar Smart City Ltd., Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan and Vice-Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, Dr B N Ramesh, and CMD, Analyst IAS, Nitin Shivhare interacted with the aspirants from Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial (AAAM) Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar.
Commissioner, SMC, Athar Amir-ul-Shafi Khan called upon students to study with dedication and commitment and to devote maximum time to their preparation.
He gave several practical tips to the students on how to prepare for the civil services examinations and guided them about time management, personal management and effective strategies required for cracking the same.
“Use appropriate methods of making notes, read newspapers, solve question papers, write essays, choose and read course material with proper understanding,” he advised the aspirants.
Vice-Chairman, Srinagar Development Authority, Dr B N Ramesh, explained twenty important traits required for cracking civil services examinations and urged students to inculcate those traits with zeal so as to achieve their goals.
Citing several examples of some achievers, he highlighted the importance of will-power, excellence, self-respect, discipline, sound health and dedication.
CMD, Analyst IAS, Nitin Shivhare, during his interaction with the students explained the vision and mission of his academy and the services offered by them to civil services aspirants.
Director, Centre for Career Planning and Counselling (CCPC), KU, Prof M Ishaq Geer explained the role of CCPC in imparting career counselling, placements and coaching for various national level competitive examinations and expressed his resolve to conduct more such inspirational and motivational guidance sessions for the students of other degree colleges in future in association with academies like Analyst IAS.
In his remarks, Principal, Abdul Ahad Azad Memorial Degree College, Dr Nazir Ahmad Simnani, highlighted the importance of career counselling and guidance for competitive examinations and underscored the need for such motivation and guidance sessions for students so that they are able to set and achieve their goals in a time-bound manner.
He said, “Such career guidance sessions pave the way for self-awareness and self-discovery of students as well as for their self-accomplishment.”
