2 persons arrested for illegal extraction & transportation of minerals in Bla, 2 vehicles also seized: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested 2 persons involved illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, in Baramulla district and also seized vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Tangmarg under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg seized two vehicles (Tractors) and arrested two persons (drivers) identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Sheikh S/o Gh Ahmad Sheikh R/o Check Ferozpora & Ashiq Hussain Khokar S/o Mohd Arshad R/o Check Treran at Shrai Tangmarg, involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that the police has registered cases under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further investigation into the case, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people not to indulge in any kind of illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules, adding therein that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law.
