DEO Kishtwar reviews progress of Spl Summary Revision,Provision of AMF in Polling centres

Kishtwar : District Election Officer/Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar, Dr. Devansh Yadav on Monday chaired a meeting to review the provision of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) in polling stations and the progress of ongoing Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Roll 2024 in the district.
The meeting was attended by Dy DEO, Naresh Kumar, ADC, ACR , SDM Paddar, alongside AERos including Tehsildars, XENs from PWD, PHE, and PDD, CEO Kishtwar,Election NT, Election Officials, and other officers.
Focusing on the AMF, Dr Devansh Yadav directed officials to ensure comprehensive provisioning of necessary facilities like ramps, drinking water, sanitation, electricity, and furniture at all the 405 polling stations. He stressed for the saturation of targets through concerted efforts. Additionally, he urged prompt identification and rectification of any deficiencies observed in the AMF.
He underlined the importance of achieving 100 percent registration of eligible voters and refining the electoral roll under SSR 2024.
The District Election Officer stressed the importance of the error less process and instructed the EROs and AEROs to galvanise the machinery to ensure no eligible voter is Left Out in the process as the last date to register is 9th December 2023 with 01-01-2024 as Qualifying age for new voters.
In the realm of SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) activities, Dr Devansh Yadav instructed nodal officers to conduct intensive awareness campaigns and special enrollment camps, specifically targeting previously unregistered demographics such as first-time voters, women, senior citizens, and individuals with disabilities.
Furthermore, he highlighted the utility of online platforms such as the NVSP portal and Voter Helpline App for seamless voter registration and verification.
Dr Devansh Yadav urged officials to collaborate with unwavering dedication and synchronization to ensure forthcoming elections in the district are conducted in a transparent, equitable, and peaceful manner.
