Says “DGP’s stern warning to religious hate mongers appreciable, No room for fanatism in secular J&K”

Srinagar : Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Democratic Front (J&K PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen on Friday appreciated the statement of Director General of Police (DGP) R. R. Swain where in he said “Nobody will be allowed to damage or disrespect any religious community and “No element will be allowed to disrupt communal harmony ,for which Kashmir was known for ages together”.
In a statement issued here, Hakeem described the recent incident at NIT, Srinagar as most unfortunate adding that Kashmiris were secular and peace loving by core of heart . He said any attempt to damage Kashmirs age old communal harmony needs to be curbed with heavy hands . He has appreciated the statement of Director General of Police (DGP) , RR Swain that elements hurting the religious sentiments of any community shall have to face stringent action under law. He has appealed the students community to focus on their career and avoid sharing videos, posting texts and messages that may promote communal hatred .
The PDF Chairman has also appreciated DGPs remarks that “J&K police was duty bound to ensure that nobody tries to show any sort of disrespect towards Prophet Muhammad (SAW) or any religious group or community in a bid to vitiate the peace and fuel violence”. He said our country has a diverse history where there was no room for extremism and religious fundamentalism. “So it was obligatory for every citizen of the country not give any place to trust deficit in its relations with general public whatever region, religion ,creed and colour they were belonging to ,Hakeem added. He said “we cannot afford to allow extremist beliefs to continue to harm humanity, promoting violence and division of society at the sweet will of fringe elements” .
“Some political parties thrive on hate, pitching one community against another to maximize their vote bank adding that need of the hour was to be vigilant so that hate and bigotry may not take precedence over brotherhood and tolerance,“ PDF Chairman maintained.
