3 drug peddlers arrested in Bla, Contraband substances also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested three drug peddlers including a womam in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Sheeri headed by SHO Police Station Sheeri under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Kitchama near service station intercepted three persons identified as Riyaz Ahmad Ganie S/o Gh Hassan, Shokeen Ahmad Ganie S/o Ab Jabar Ganie both residents of Batangi Boniyar and Saleema Begum W/o Mohd Ashraf Najar R/o Mirher Sheeri and during search recovered 776 grams of Heroin like contraband substance from their possession, Stating therein further that the accused have been arrested and shifted to PS where they remain in custody and the vehicle used in the commission of crime has been seized.
Stating that the police has accordingly registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Sheeri besides which investigation has been initiated, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and assured that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
