Srinagar : Police on Wednesday said that it has arrested four persons for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla besides which four vehicles have been also seized from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Police Sation Baramulla, seized 4 vehicles (tippers) and arrested their drivers for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Kahnpora Baramulla.
Stating that the accused have been identified as Irfan Ahmed Malik S/o Mohammad Amin Malik, Sareer Ahmed Mir S/ol Nazir Ahmed Mir, Mudasir Ahmed Malik S/o Firdous Ahmad Malik, all residents of Drangbal & Junaid Ahmed Lone S/o Bashir Ahmed Lone R/o Khandiyar , Police in it’s statement further said that all the above named accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Stating that the police has also registered a case under relevant sections of law in Police Station Baramulla besides which nvestigation has been also taken up, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
