DDC Kulgam reviews RDD sector works, instructs to develop durable assets

Kulgam: The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat on Tuesday chaired a meeting of officers and officials of Rural Development Department and Panchayati Raj (RDD&PR) at mini-secretariat here to review the functioning, progress and implementation status of various schemes in the district.
During the meeting, ACD, Mohammad Imran apprised the chair about the progress made under various schemes like MGNREGA, PMAY-G, District Capex, etc and informed that 45259 active job cards have been issued during the ongoing year with 30 percent women job card workers ratio.
The meeting was informed that 4184 works under MGNREGA during year 2023-24 have been taken-up and completed with a wage disbursement of Rs. 40.85 crores and under PMAY (G), against the target of 5999 units, 2454 units have been completed whereas 3545 are under progress and the expenditure cost is around 62.59 crore as on date.
It was also shared that under District Capex, 1925 works have been approved, out of which 1207 works have been completed with an expenditure of Rs 751.53 crores.
The DDC instructed the concerned to expedite the process of works under District Capex 2023-24 and PMAY (G) and complete the same within set timelines.
He also stressed upon concerned to work religiously to make all villages of the district clean and beautiful, by adhering to the proper strategies of waste management.
Dr Bilal called for timely completion of all the works with judicious utilization of funds, while ensuring quality of work, in order to create durable assets.
The meeting was attended by ACR, Imtiyaz-Ul Aziz, CPO, Zahid Sajjad, ACP, Shurjeel Ahmad, Exen, Rew, BDOs and other officers and officials.
