United Nations: Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have failed to sufficiently investigate violence against the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and take action to protect its members, Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights Ilze Brands Kehris said on Friday.
“Regrettably, Ukrainian law enforcement response in these cases has been inadequate, failing to sufficiently investigate incidents and take action to protect members of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” Ilze Brands Kehris said at an UN Security Council meeting.
