Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Baramulla headed by SHO Police Station Baramulla under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla at a checkpoint established at Chakloo intercepted one Mehraj-ud-din Mir S/o Abdul Khaliq R/o Chijhama Rafiabad who was arrested and shifted to Police Station Baramulla where he remains in custody, adding therein that during search, 110 grams of Charas like substance was recovered from the possession of the above named accused.
Stating that the police has registered a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and also initiated further investigation into the case,
Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society and reassured that it will act tough against the criminals as per law.
