7 Arrested For Illegal Extraction, Transportation Of Minerals In Bla,7 Vehicles Also Seized: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested seven persons for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district and also seized seven vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Baramulla assisted by SHO Police Station Baramulla and Incharge Police Post Delina seized seven vehicles (3 tippers and 4 tractors) and arrested seven persons (Drivers) identified as Ashiq Ahmad Dar S/o AbRehmanR/o Jalsheeri, Bashir Ahmad Khan S/o Lal Din R/o Kanispora, Manzoor Ahmad Gojree S/o Mohd Shaban R/o Drangbal, Shahid Hamid Rather S/o Abdul Hamid, Farooq Ahmad Mir S/o Wali Mohd, Mohd Arif Dar S/o Fayaz Ahmad and Javaid Ahmad Dar S/o Ghulam Nabi, all residents of Darpora Delinaat Delina and Main Market Baramulla for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that the accused have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody, Police in it’s statement further said that cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at Police Station Baramulla besides which further investigation has also been initiated.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement Police warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
