Police organises drug awareness Prog in G’bal

Srinagar: On the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar, Police on Saturday organized a drug awareness programme/ seminar as part of their civic action program at Govt. High School Rabitar.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the programme was organised under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal Gh Hassan and was attended by Doctors, Teachers, PRIs, respectable Citizens, Social Activists, Students etc.
While speaking on the onset of the event, Miss Sobiya Shabir, Social Worker Special Cell for Woman PS Kheerbawani, delivered her lecture about the co-operation of people with J&K Police in eradicating the severe menace of drugs from the society. The Panel of Doctors present in the Seminar also appraised the audience with psychological & social aspects of Drug Addiction. They talked about Socio-economic, Physiological and Psychological causes & its preventive measures. The participants were encouraged to adopt positive approaches and to encourage others to do the same in eliminating the severe menace of Drug Addiction.
Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal also talked about the sensitive topic of Drug Addiction. He highlighted the role of school management in identifying such cases and their role in treatment process thereof. He added that Police is always ready to help them in promoting sports & games. Moreover, various dignitaries, Teachers, Social Activists & Students also thrown light on this burning issue. At the conclusion of the Seminar, Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal distributed guest of honour mementos among the Speakers & presented vote of thanks.
