Srinagar: Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Budgam and alsorecovered contraband substances from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that Police Post Mouchwa received inputs about one drug peddler of Wathoora Chadoora having concealed/ dumped Charas like substance in his residential house and deputed a special police team headed by Incharge Police Post Mouchwa to the spot where the team during search recovered26Kgs of charas like substance in powder form from the house which was immediately seized and the accused identified as Nazir Ahmad Maniguru S/o Gh Mohd Maniguru R/o Wathoora Chadoora was arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
Stating that the police registered a case vide FIR No. 228/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Chadoora and initiated further investigation, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood but warned that people found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
