Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested three persons for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals case in Handwara and also seized two vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar a police party led from Police Station Handwara led by SHO Police Station Handwara under the supervision of SDPO Handwara seized two vehicles (1 JCB and 1 Tipper) and arrested three persons identified as Faizan Ahmad Shiekh S/o Mohd Sultan R/o Badrkal, Javaid Ahmad Rather S/o Ab Gaffar R/o Drugmullah and Farooq Ahmad Lone S/o Gh Ahmad R/o Gulgam Kupwara.
Stating that registered a case vide FIR No. 246/2023 under relevant sections of law at Police Station Handwara and initiated further investigation, Police
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
