Srinagar: For organising various commemorative events in connection to the Police Commemoration Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Police Flag Day Week-2023 with effect from 21st Oct to 31st Oct, 2023, the Director General J&K Police Dilbag Singh on Wednesday sanctioned Rs 46 lakh in favour of all 23 District SSPs (including 3 Police District) of J&K.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre J&K PHQ Srinagar Rs two Lacs each has been sanctioned in favour of 23 districts SSPs under Civic Action Programme 2023-24, for organizing various commemorative events in connection with the observance of Police Commemoration Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Police Flag Day Week-2023. The date wise schedules for organising different activities/programmes were forwarded to all the districts.
These programs will be held from 21st October (Police Commemoration Day) to 31st October (Rashtriya Ekta Diwas) to highlight the martyrdom of Police personnel who laid down their lives in service to the nation and its citizens.
During the period various programs including Police Commemoration Day functions will be held at APC Zewan/Gulshan Ground and Rail Head Complex in Jammu and at all district headquarters besides which Sports events, exhibitions highlighting contribution of Police Martyrs will be also held at all district hqrs,. Moreover the visit of Police officers to local villages/towns of martyrs, organising debate in schools/colleges on the theme ‘Role of Police in Nation Building’, Unity Runs/cultural programmes, Police Band shows at prominent public venues, honouring special achievers among siblings of Police martyrs, National Security seminars/lectures by eminent personalities and Ekta Diwas, mini marathons (Run for Unity) will be held in every district on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
