Police freezes, seizes amount of Rs 1.6 Lacs from drug smuggler in B’la

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has freezed and seized amount of Rs. 1.6 lacs from a drug Smuggler in Baramulla.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police team led by SHO Police Station Kunzer freezed and seized cash to the tune of Rs. 1.6 lacs belonging to drug smuggler identified as Mansoor Ahmad Wani @Suriya S/o Ghulam Mohammad R/o Kharpora Kunzer after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities.
Stating that the said amount was linked to case FIR No. 44/2023 under section 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Kunzer and the investigation proved that the said movable property in form of cash was raised/used for illicit trafficking by the said drug smuggler, Police in it’s statement further said that Baramulla Police has attached properties worth 2.27 Cr of drug smugglers which includes 3 houses, 3 vehicles and cash to the tune of Rs.1.12 crores in Pattan, Kreeri, Kunzer, Nambla & Kamalkote during the current year
Police in it’s statement also said that moreover, SAFEM (FOP) A & NDPSA, New Delhi confirmed attachment of property (Illegal acquired property by drug smugglers) orders of Baramulla Police at in which house and vehicle was attached across the district.
Stating that it is committed to act tough against the drug smugglers and with regard to attachment of moveable/immovable property which has been raised/used for illicit trafficking by the drug smugglers in the district, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement appealed people of the district to come forward with the information of drug peddlers in their areas (identify will be kept confidential) in order to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of strong police public relationship.
