Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act in Bla: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has booked most wanted drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla after obtaining formal detention orders from competent authority.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said the most wanted and notorious drug smuggler identified as Hilal Ahmad Sofi @Sheera S/o Gh Nabi R/o Bazaar Mohalla Pattan has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority and also said thar the booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged at Central Jail Kot-balwal Jammu.
Police in its statement also said that many a cases were registered against the said drug smuggler for being involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Pattan and other areas of Baramulla district and despite his involvement in many FIRs, he did not mend his activities and was again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that the people of the area had appreciated its role against drug peddlers.
