Srinagar: Police on Monday said that it has arrested three persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla and also seized three vehicles from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, Police said that in Kulgam, a Police party under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Altaf Ahmad assisted by SHO Police Station Baramulla, seized three vehicles including 1 Excavator, 1 Tipper and 1 Tractor and arrested their drivers identified as Shakir Ahmad Lone S/o Ab Gani, Mudasir Ahmad Lone S/o Ab Gani, both residents of Jalsheeri Baramulla and Shahid ul Islam S/o Javid Ahmad Rather R/o Khawajabagh Baramulla for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Stating that Police registed a case under relevant sections of law at Police Station Baramulla and alsi initiated further investigation into the case, Police
in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed them to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
