Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has solved a burglary case by arresting four rustlers and also recovered sixteen stolen sheep from their possession in Ganderbal district here.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on Police Station Lar on 22nd September this year received a written complaint from Mohammad Iqbal Thekri S/o Makhan Thekri R/o Kathua A/P Yangoora Lar who alleged therein that few days ago, during the night hours some unknown thieves barged into his cowshed and too away 16 Sheep worth lacs.
Stating that the police accordingly registered a case vide FIR No. 55/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Lar and initiated investigation , Police in it’s statement said that during the course of investigation, a team was constituted under the supervision of Dy SP Hqrs Ganderbal led by SHO Police Station Lar, on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar and it was after strenuous efforts, the Police team apprehended four persons identified as Mudasir Ahmad Dar S/o Gh Rasool Dar R/o Ari Goripora Kangan, Shabir Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Khaliq Mir R/o Ari Goripora Kangan, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir S/o Ab Rashid Mir R/o Ari Goripora Kangan and Riyaz Ahmad Damiyal S/o Mohd Shafi Damiyal R/o Gund Aku.
Police in it’s statement further said that during questioning, the accused persons admitted their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure, stolen 16 sheep were recovered, adding therein that the accused persons have been shifted to Police Station where they remain in custody.
In the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement police said that the people of the area have hailed and appreciated its efforts in solving the theft case within the shortest possible time. Police also appealed people to co-operate with it and share inputs of crime so that effective measures will be taken well on time.
