Srinagar: Police on Thursday said that it has arrested four suspects for being involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Baramulla district and also seized four vehicles from theirpossession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party under the supervision of SDPO Tangmarg assisted by SHO Police Station Tangmarg seized four vehicles (4 tractors) and arrested four drivers identified as Ishfaq Ahmad Khan S/o Bashir Ahmad Khan R/o Khaminderpora, Javid Ahmad Mir S/o Noor Din Mir R/o Ferozpora, Rouf Ahmad Kumar S/o Ab Rahim Kumar R/o Hajibal Tangmarg & Mohd Shafi Ganie S/o Mohd Akbar Ganie R/o Hardu Ichloo Tangmarg for their involvement in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Ferozpora Nallah Tangmarg. Stating that it has accordingly registered cases under relevant sections of law at Police Station Tangmarg and initiated further investigation, Police in the concluding para of it’s above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal extraction activities shall be dealt with as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
