Doda: Deputy Commissioner, Vishesh Mahajan, chaired a meeting with Tehsildars and National Highway & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) authorities to review the progress of work on NH244 in the district and discuss issues impeding progress.
During the meeting, the DC highlighted that the Chenani-Vailoo National Highways 244, connecting Chennai-Sudhmahadev-Anantnag, will serve as an alternative route for road transport, reducing travel expenses and distance by around 93 kilometers.
DC Doda emphasised the importance of timely completion of mega projects and urged concerned Tehsildars and stakeholders to settle issues hampering progress on Alternate NH244. Various bottlenecks and issues affecting progress were discussed and the DC directed officers to take the matter seriously and find solutions.
The meeting also discussed rehabilitation of Pul Doda residents, court stay cases, demand for additional land for acquisition, disposal of debris, plantation on the new highway and other issues. The Deputy Commissioner stressed the importance of coordination and dedication in resolving obstacles or issues that may impede progress on the ongoing mega project.
The DC instructed NHIDCL authorities and concerned officers to work together and find immediate solutions to prevent hindrances to execution of work.
