Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited Baltal Base Camp to review the arrangements to ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Lieutenant Governor also interacted with the pilgrims, service providers and officials to review the arrangements related to ongoing Amarnath yatra during the visit.
The 62-day-long Amarnath Yatra commenced from July 1 is bringing happiness in people’s lives and giving new wings to local aspirations.
The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the dedication & commitment of pony walas, shop owners, tent providers, Langar organisations, NGOs during the interaction with their representatives for invaluable contribution in enriching this spiritual tradition and bringing indescribable joy to pilgrims.
He also directed officials to maintain a high level of enthusiasm for excellent service, coordination, effective communication, prompt response to concerns & encourage feedback from pilgrims during the remaining period of Yatra. Make sure every possible comfort is provided to pilgrims.
Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is making significant contributions to tourism, employment generation and revenue, the Lieutenant Governor observed and said human spirit is soaring to great heights, cultural diversity, communal harmony is being strengthened and J&K is emerging as a symbol of modern and eternal.
Lieutenant Governor also visited the Eco-friendly, sustainable Langar set up by the Rural Development Department in collaboration with Swaaha Resource Management at Baltal.
