Srinagar J&K Police on Wednesday organized and participated in Yoga programs at different Police establishments in which Police personnel and recruits participated.
According to a statement issued from Police Media Centre, PHQ Jammu, S K Police Academy Udhampur, Subsidiary Training Centre (STC) Talwara and Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur, organized special Yoga programmes in order to aware the Police staff and trainees regarding the benefits of the Yoga exercises.
At Vijaypur on the occasion of “International Yoga Day ”, Police Technical Training Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur organized “Yoga Session” in PTTI complex for the staff and trainees. While speaking on the occasion, Shri Shiv Kumar, SSP, Principal PTTI Vijaypur advised the participants to make yoga as a habit in their daily life to keep them fit and healthy. Principal further reiterated that Regular practice of yoga can lose weight, relieve stress, improve immunity and maintain a healthier lifestyle. The staff and trainees enjoyed the Yoga session. Inspr. Ram Lal gave an impressive lecture and demonstrated various yoga exercises which were followed by all the staff and trainees. He said, the art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body and soul and builds strength, flexibility and confidence.
Moreover, at STC Talwara on the eve of 9th International Yoga Day an event has been organized on the theme of “One Earth, One Health” which resonates with the principle of “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam” in passing out parade ground in which Sh, Jameel Ahmed, SSP Principal STC Talwara, Sh. Surdeep Singh, DY.SP Assistant Principal outdoor and other officers participated.
Besides, Principal, Sh. Jameel Ahmed, SSP impressed upon all the officers/officials to include “Yoga” in their daily life to get rid from the physical and mental stress as it is actually a combination of four components; postures, breathing practices, deep relaxation and meditation that can transform our health on different levels. It is not just a physical exercise to keep the body in a state of health and calmness but also help us to attain conscious control over restlessness and sense perceptions of the body which henceforth cease to be obstacles in the attainment of higher spiritual state. Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfilment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to heal and well-being.
At Anantnag “9th International Yoga Day” was observed by IRP 11th Bn in collaboration with Department of AYUSH, Anantnag at DPL Anantnag. The International Yoga day celebrations were attended by about 300 participants drawn from IRP 11th Bn Anantnag, District Police Anantnag, Students of different Schools and District Ayush Team Anantnag. Various dignitaries also attended the event. Rayees Mohmmad Bhat DIG SKR Anantnag was the Chief Guest on the occasion and DDC Chairman Mohd Yousuf Gorsi was the Special Guest. Among the other dignitaries who attended the event were Ashish Mishra, SSP Anantnag, Sandeep Mehta, SSP, Commandant, IRP 11th Bn, Dr Ali Mohmmad, District Ayush Officer and their team of Doctors and demonstrators.
At the onset, the National Anthem was played. Later, Dr Irfana Khan of Ayush Team explained the importance and meaning of Yoga where-as, Dr Shazia Abass along with her team of Yoga Instructors displayed the common Yoga protocol and made the participants do various Yoga Asanas. After the conclusion of the Yoga protocol, the participants were addressed by the Chief Guest Rayees Mohammad Bhat, (DIG SKR Anantnag) who spoke in detail about the importance of Yoga in our daily lives and called upon everyone to practice Yoga to maintain balance in every sphere of their personal and professional lives. DIG SKR Anantnag also suggested the participants working in the police department to take a Yoga break during the day time to relax and rejuvenate themselves in order to enhance productivity at work. The Chief Guest complimented the CO IRP 11th Bn (Sandeep Mehta) for organizing such an impressive event to commemorate the 9th International Yoga Day and also thanked the Ayush Team Anantnag.
The event was attended by 300 participants from various organizations including students of different schools and district offices. In the end, Sandeep Mehta JKPS, SSP, Commandant IRP 11thBn thanked the participants and the dignitaries for attending the function and making it a huge success.
At Baramulla, District Baramulla Police observed 9th International Yoga Day with the theme One Earth, One Family, and One Future at District Police Lines Baramulla in which SSP Baramulla Amod Ashok Nagpure, SP Hqrs Baramulla Divya D, DySP DAR DPL Baramulla Peerzada Aijaz Ahmad and other officers/ officials of District Police Baramulla also participated in the event.
Internationals Yoga Day was celebrated in battalion headquarters of IRP-14th Bn. Channi Himmat Jammu. Anita Sharma-SSP Commandant IRP-14th Bn. along with officers/officials took part in making the International Yoga Day successful. Speaking on the occasion, Commandant IRP-14th Bn. highlighted the importance of this day and advised that we must include yoga in our daily routine as it improves flexibility of our body and helps us to stay physically fit and mentally strong. Later, she thanked officers and officials of the unit for their participation and informed that we will continue to organize such activities in future also.
Police Hospital Jammu Celebrated 9th International Yoga Day in District Police Line Ground, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The yoga day was organized early in the morning wherein all Doctors, Paramedical & other staff members of the hospital participated. All the officers and jawans performing their duties in the DPL Jammu also participated. The camp was conducted under the supervision of Yoga trainer SgCt Avinash.
Dr. Meenakshi Kotwal, Medical Superintendent Police Hospital Jammu under whose guidance the Yoga Camp was organised conveyed special thanks to all officers for providing all necessary logistics for conduct of the event.
International Yoga Day was also celebrated with great enthusiasm by students and staff of J&K Police Public Schools at Srinagar, Jammu, Baramulla, Kupwara and Doda.
