Security of Amarnath Yatris top priority of Govt: Union Minister Meghwal

Jammu : Terming Amarnath Yatra as a rich example of communal harmony and brotherhood in Jammu and Kashmir, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal Friday said that security of pilgrims is top priority of the government.
Addressing a press conference in Rajouri where he arrived for a two-day tour of Rajouri and Poonch districts under Jan Sampark Abhiyaan to highlight achievements of the present government the Union Minister Meghwal said that Amarnath Yatra having sacred religious value is an epitome of religious and communal harmony of people living here.
He further said that the government will ensure that all the facilities are available for this pilgrimage while the safety and security of pilgrims has and will always be the top priority of the Government.
Minister of Law and Justice (Independent Charge) and Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Arjun Ram Meghwal also mentioned the benefits of the recent G20 summit and said that this will give a boost to the tourism industry in the region and will ultimately raise the employment avenues of the local population.
Regarding the present security situation, he said that in the last nine years, internal security and external security has been prioritised by the government and a tough message has been given to militants through surgical strike while issues like that of wing commander Abhinandan have also been handled well by this government.
About the issue prevailing between Indo-Chinese armies on LAC, the Union Minister said that no infrastructure was built on LAC earlier and the infrastructure existing now has only been built in the last nine years by the present government only.
Later, he also held a meeting with beneficiaries at Rajdhani in Thanamandi.
He was accompanied by other BJP leaders including BJP President Ravinder Raina, chief spokesperson Sunil Sethi and other leader
