Srinagar: Parts of Kashmir valley including Srinagar experienced light rain on Sunday even disrupting normal activities, officials said.
Meteorological centre forecast scattered light rain, traces and snow over Jammu and Kashmir during the next 24 hours.
An independent weather observer said that a weak western disturbance may turn the sky cloudy and cause light to moderate rain and thunder showers at some parts of Jammu and Kashmir during the next 12 hours.
He said there is nothing major change expected in the weather system during the next four days.
Srinagar experienced light rainfall this evening disrupting normal activities in the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
Reports of light rainfall were also received from several parts of Kashmir valley also.
Srinagar recorded a minimum of 4.2 degree Celsius on Sunday which was 0.5 degree Celsius above normal. The Maximum temperature was recorded at 22.6 degree Celsius which was 7.9 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the season.
Qazigund had a low of 3.2 degree Celsius which was 0.9 degree Celsius above normal. The maximum temperature was recorded at 21.2 degree Celsius which was 6.9 degree Celsius above normal for the gateway of Kashmir.
Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of 0.6 degree Celsius and it was 0.9 degree Celsius above normal. The tourist spot had a maximum of 20.4 degree Celsius which was 8.9 degree above normal during this period of the season.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir recorded a low of 2.2 degree Celsius and it was 5.5 degree Celsius above normal. The ski resort witnessed a maximum temperature at 13.4 degree Celsius which was 8.8 degree Celsius above normal during this period.
Kupwara had a low of 1.5 degree Celsius while Kokernag recorded a low of 6.5 degree Celsius on Sunday, the MeT office said.
