DC Inspects ongoing work on Health and Nutrition Centre under ABDP, Hands over sanction letters to farmers under Horticulture schemes

Srinagar: Enduring efforts of Administration to reach out to the common masses living in the rural and far flung areas of the District to address their grievances, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday undertook an extensive tour of Check Sangri area in Khonmoh Block of the District and held a Grievance Redressal Camp under Weekly Block Diwas programme.
The tour was conducted to bring Administration at the door steps of people for on spot resolution of public issues and demands.
The Grievance Redressal Camp was attended by large gathering of locals, besides representatives of Panchayat Raj Institutions viz. DDC member, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area who projected their grievances and issues before the Deputy Commissioner including macadamization of Check Sangri road, infrastructure upgradation of High School Sangri, playground for local youth, separate water pumping station, deployment of Staff for Boys Middle School, waiver in electricity tariff for BPL consumers, improvement in mobile network connectivity and other issues.
After giving patient hearing to the grievances and demands of the PRI members and other individuals, the DC sought on the spot response from the concerned District Officers present during the Grievance Redressal Camp. He assured the people of Check Sangri and other areas of Khonmoh Block that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority.
The DC also gave on the spot directions to the concerned Officers for time bound redressal of the public issues.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner said on the directions of Lieutenant Governor, the District Administration is holding such grievance redressal Camps to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment to ensure their time bound redressal. He said such programmes also provide feedback to the Administration to developmental plans as per proposals of the local populations for the public good and reach to the doorstep of the people instead of them visiting the DC office or other Government Offices.
With regard to the demand for a playground, the DC asked the Tehsildar Panthachowk to identify a suitable land for development of a playground for local youth.
On the occasion, the DC also handed over sanction letters to local farmers regarding Subsidy under Horticulture scheme.
During the tour, the DC also inspected the pace of various ongoing developmental works including construction of Health and Nutrition Centre being executed at a cost of Rs 15 lakh under Aspirational Block Development Programme.
The DC instructed the concerned Officers to expedite the works within set timelines to ensure people are timely benefited He directed the officers to accelerate the pace of works for time bound completion of all ongoing projects.
Among others, Chief Planning Officer Srinagar, Mohammad Yassen Lone, Assistant Commissioner Development, Syed Farooq, Chief Agriculture Officer, Mohammad Younis, Chief Horticulture Officer, V K Gupta, Tehsildar Panthachowk, Rakib Ahmad, BD, Majid Manzoor, Deputy CEO, Anjum Raja besides Officers of PHE, PDD and R&B, RDD and other concerned Departments.
