Autumn: Not just a Season but a Message

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower” (Albert Camus)
Autumn is the season of harvest and fall: the season when the farmers harvest their crops and leaves of trees turn their color from green to yellow and start falling from trees. This change (or scene) has, no doubt, its own beauty and aesthetic feeling. However, what I want to emphasize here is that from this autumn season, we learn two main things of life: (1) success comes only after hard work; (2) nothing in this world will remain forever. Therefore, accept change and go ahead like trees do, for “change is the law of nature”. Trees face winds, cold weather, snowfall and what not; but they still they remain calm and straight. So should we face all the challenges and difficulties and move on. Autumn indicates success point for framers when they harvest their crops after a prolonged hard work. From sowing to harvest, they give their best and at the end they feel relieved and rejoiced when they harvest their crop. Same is the case with everyone of us–be it a student, an employee, a businessman, etc. We all strive and struggle and work hard to achieve our goals. In case, due to any (calamity or natural disaster) cultivation fails; a farmer feels very much distressed and disappointed. So does a person feels disappointed and distressed if he fails to achieve his set goals, due to one or the reason. Nothing remains forever; nothing in this world is either permanent or remains constant. Autumn shows us how beautiful it is to let things go. Yet autumn is beautiful; though everything is dying/ falling; green turning into yellow and yellow into ashes. Trees show us how they let go things slowly and peacefully (fruits and leaves). We consider the last leaf on a tree as last hope of a person. But trees never fall down or die with the fall of leaves or by picking up their fruits. They remain strong and hopeful, facing chilling winter, for spring. To put in the words of P.B. Shelley, “If Winter comes, can spring be far behind”. Same is the case with us (humans): we should face the difficulties and challenges and neither lose hope nor to bow before any hardships (in the same way as the trees do in winters).
Thus, autumn gives us many lessons; and the best lesson is that we should never lose hope but remain firm and strong to face any situations, difficulties or challenges. When a persons says springs is my season, it usually means that it is time for growing and blossoming. If we work hard from spring season, we will harvest the fruits of hardwork in autumn, the season of grading and results. Autumn at once symbolizes ripening, abundance and harvest as well as decay, decline and even death. In autumn, along with fall of leaves, one observes lengthy nights and shorter days. This indicates that the ray of hope remains hidden until springs knocks again with blossoming and flowering. Autumn also indicates that pride of green and power does not remain forever, when leaves fall from mighty trees then people crush them under their feet or burn them into ashes. However what is remember about a tree is its fruit. Same happens with the humans: when a person dies, people bury him underneath; what they remember and recall about the dead is his actions, behavior and his character. So, autumn shows us that nature is ever changing. Nature is not always kind. Coming and going (birth and death) are but natural; so be strong but humble, kind and courageous; live every moment of your life; be happy and make others happy too. Be kind, sympathetic and helpful so that to be one of the best examples for others.
