Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday said that some private schools in Jammu and Kashmir were harassing the students during the morning assembly over non-payment of the tuition and other fees.
It said that harassing the students is highly objectionable and can be resorted to corporal punishments.
The School Education Department in this regard issued a circular which reads “A delegation of parents visited the administrative department of School Education complaining that some Private Schools within the Union Territory of JK are harassing the students for non-payment of School Fees, some resort to disgracing the students during assemblies and classes and even some schools resort to corporal punishments, which is highly objectionable”.
It also states that the government has taken a serious notice of it. “Accordingly it is impressed upon all the Private Schools within the Union Territory of JK to resist such practices.”
The department said that any issue regarding fees may directly be taken up with the parents or the guardians and no student should be asked for payment of balance fees.
“Any violation in this regard, shall be viewed seriously and necessary action may be taken against the schools, which can include de-recognition of the Schools, as well,” it reads
