New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday in his address to Jal Utsav at Goa through virtual medium, said that every rural house from Kanyakumari to Kashmir will be provided with piped water within the next three years. The Prime Minister said that the Jal Shakti Ministry in the country has brought water through pipes to hilly areas like Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Nanital where people are now getting clean drinking water through taps.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that seven crore rural homes have been supplied with water through the pipeline within three years. It is working on the mission of delivering water through pipes. He was addressing Jal Utsav at every home through virtual medium. The event was held in Goa under Jal Jeevan Mission. He congratulated Goa for becoming the first every household certified state, where every household is provided with piped drinking water. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the Ministry of Jal Shakti will provide piped water to all rural areas from Kashmir to Kanyakumari in the next three years. He said that getting clean drinking water is the birthright of every Indian citizen whether he is living in plains or hilly areas. He said that the country is moving forward to provide all basic facilities to its citizens in the Amrit Mahotsav call of independence, which will continue for the next 24 years.
