Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: School Edu Deptt organizes various activities in Srinagar

Srinagar : As part of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative of government being celebrated under the aegis of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the School Education Department Srinagar organized a series of programmes including activities in various Higher Secondary Schools of the district.
The activities were held on the directions of the Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad to create awareness among the students about the freedom fighters, history of Indian freedom struggle and the importance of the National Flag.
During the programmes, various activities were held including Seminar, Painting Competition, Slogan Writing Competition, Role Play, Poetry Competition and Essay Writing Competition.
These activities were initially conducted at School level followed by the Zonal Level Competition. All Government Schools and most of the Private schools participated in this Programme.
The District level Competition was formally inaugurated by Nusrat Bukhari, Principal GGHSS Kothibagh and Shaheena, Principal GHSS Khanyar.
The Deputy Chief Education Officer Srinagar, Anjum Raja in her address appreciated the efforts of the students in making the AKAM Activity Calendar successful.
Giving details, the Deputy CEO said that in the Essay Writing Competition Zia Bashir of GMS Mehjoor Nagar, Iqra Noor of GHS Zainder Mohalla and Zainab Zehra of GHSS Zadibal secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In the Painting Competition, Zakiya of GHSS Amirakadal, Tazika Shah of GHSS Soura Hawal and Afshan of BHSS Tailbal secured first, second and third positions respectively.
Similarly, in the Slogan Writing Competition Naireen Ajaz of GHSS Khanyar, Tanzeela Gulzar of GHSS Zadibal, Baseerat Zainab of GHSS Khanyar secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In the Role Play first position was clinched by Faizan Nazir of BHS Batpora and Sana Yousuf of BHS Tailbal The second and third positions were clinched by Rutba Manzoor of GHSS Khanyar and Asma Ashiq of GHSS Khanyar.
In the Patriotic Poetry Competition Farheen Farooq of RP School, Tabish Rouf of GHSS GG Mohalla and Maria Fayaz of GHSS Kothibagh secured first, second and third positions respectively.
In Seminar events Soliha Hanief of RP School, Ahmed Faraz Baba of BHSS Zadibal and Arshika Assad of GHSS Nishat secured first, second and the third spots.
