Doctors Day observed at SKIMS Bemina

Srinagar : SKIMS Medical College and Hospital Bemina celebrated Doctor’s day.The function was attended by the Principal SKIMS Medical College and Hospital, Bemina, Prof. Irfan Robbani, Medical Superintendent Dr Shafa. A.W. Deva, Senior Professors and Heads of the Departments, Senior Residents, Medical Interns and other Post Graduates of the College.
The programme started with a welcome address by Dr. Yasmeen Jan, Associate Professor, Department of Community Medicine, SKIMS Medical College.
A 3-minute video depicting working of SKIMS Medical College and Hospital was played on the occasion.
The Principal SKIMS, Bemina while addressing the audience laid emphasis on the development of communication skills in doctor-patient relationship.
Series of Lectures about being a Doctor was given by faculty member Dr. Asif, Assistant Prof of the Department of Paediatrics, Post Graduate student of the Department of Psychiatry Dr Hadia and medical Intern Ms. Tanesha.
A panel discussion was also held on the theme “Coping up strategies to ensure working as a team”, mutual respect for each other and solidarity in health care settings.
Dr. Shafa Medical Superintendent, Prof Sheikh Sajad, HOD Ophthalmology, Prof. Sheikh Mohd Shakeel, HOD Dentistry & Maxillofacial Surgery and Prof Ajaz Ahmed Rather, HOD Surgery and Academic Registrar participated in the panel discussion.
Prof. Majid Ahmad Ganai, HOD Psychiatry was the Moderator of the panel discussion. Appreciation was provided for doctors of SKIMS Medical College who worked selflessly during Covid-19.
The event was managed by Dr Beenish Mushtaq Assistant Professor, Department of Community Medicine with assistance from Dr Sana, Senior Resident.
The function ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Uroosa Farooq, Senior Resident in the Department of Community Medicine SKIMS Medical College and hospital, Bemina.
