JLNM Hospital Srinagar, DH Poonch receive quality certification under Laqshya Prog

Srinagar: The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has accorded National Certification under Laqshya program to JLNM Hospital, Srinagar and District Hospital (DH) Poonch in recognition of the high standards of quality and ensuring Respectful Maternity Care in the Labour Room and Maternity OTs.
Both the facilities were assessed by a team of highly qualified and empanelled assessors from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the month of May, 2022 and both the hospitals have been rated as Quality Certified under LaQshya program of National Health Mission. The National Certification will be valid for a period of three years subject to annual verification of the scores by the State Quality Assurance Committee.
After this certification, both the hospitals shall receive an additional annual grant of Rs. 6.00 lakh for next three years under National Health Mission, following which there will be re-inspection.
Principal Secretary, Health & Medical Education, Manoj K. Dwivedi while congratulating the facility staff of both the hospitals for this achievement, urged all Medical Colleges, District Hospitals and CHCs to work for implementation of LaQshya standards in Labour Rooms & Maternity OTs so that Maternal &Newborn Health is further improved across J&K.
Mission Director, NHM, Yasin M. Choudhary while congratulating the management of these hospitals, said that the certification has been accorded to these two facilities in recognition of the “high standards of quality and performance maintained by these hospitals” in their concerned Labour Rooms and Maternity Operation Theatres.
