DC Srinagar reviews implementation of Yuva Sahakar & Ayushman Sahakar Schemes

Srinagar: In order to discuss and review the schemes launched by National Cooperative Development Corporation including implementation of YuvaSahakar and AyushmanSahakar schemes in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Thursday chaired a meeting of officers of the concerned Departments at Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here.
The meeting held a detailed discussion regarding the implementation and monitoring of the ‘YuvaSahakar-Cooperative Enterprise Support and Innovation Scheme” launched by National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in Srinagar District.
On the occasion, the DC directed all line departments to hold interactions with the registered Cooperative Societies in the district and make them aware about the objectives and benefits of YuvaSahakar scheme so that more livelihood generation avenues are provided to youth of the district. He also asked them to prepare comprehensive sector wise plans under the scheme so that new Cooperative Societies led by the young entrepreneurs are formed.
Highlighting the objectives of the scheme, the DC said that YuvaSahakar scheme is aimed to fulfill aspirations of the youth and NCDC has come up with a youth-friendly scheme for attracting them to cooperative business ventures. He said NCDC has created a dedicated funding with liberal features enabling youth to opt for the scheme.
The DC said the newly launched scheme would encourage Cooperatives to venture into new and innovative areas and the Government has been encouraging start-ups for ease of doing business and non-conventional opportunities are emerging to ensure enhanced employability to the local youth so that they become job providers rather than job seekers.
On the occasion, the DC was informed that so far 35 projects have been submitted by the different Cooperative Societies with the Registrar Cooperatives in the District under various sectors including Agriculture, Dairy, Housing, and Handicraft.
Later, the DC also briefed the meeting about AyushmanSahakar scheme launched under the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfaren.
He said the AyushmanSahakar scheme is a unique scheme to assist cooperatives to play an important role in the creation of healthcare infrastructure and providing employment avenues for the youth.
Chief Planning Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Registrar Cooperatives, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, besides officers of Agriculture Horticulture, Sheep Husbandry and other Departments were present in the meeting.
