Srinagar|June,5 : Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Front (J&KPDF) and former Minister Hakeem Mohammed Yaseen Sunday expressed serious concern over the recent attacks on Kashmiri students in Punjab colleges.
In a statement issued to media, he said it is unfortunate that innocent students are attacked by violent mobs outside Jammu and Kashmir, such things will not be accepted anymore. Hakeem said safety of Kashmiri students should be priority of respective government. They are innocent and have nothing to do with politics or any suituation, he said.
The J&K PDF Chairman termed it unfortunate that instead of taking action against accused in thrashing, authorities at Swami Vivekananda College Chandigarh has suspended two kashmiri students and a penalty of 25000/ is imposed on both the students. ” Instead of bridging gap, the authorities are further widening gap between the students. They are adding fuel to the fire,” he said.
Hakeem appealed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Punjab to adress the issue. If such attacks will continue it will have adverse impact on Valley suituation,” he said.
Reacting over the recent spate of killings in Kashmir, he said such killings are condemned and there is no space to justify such gruesome killings. “The LG government should fulfill demands of Kashmiri Pandits and relocate them at safer destinations. The priority should be given to their safe accomodation and safety,” Hakeem said. He also said that issues of KP employees should be resolved on priority basis, so that they have sigh of relief.
