Srinagar Admin launches massive anti-encroachment drive across City

Over 50 Kanals of prime State land retrieved at various locations

Srinagar : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner, (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz, the District Administration Srinagar Thursday launched a massive anti-encroachment drive in all Tehsils of the District and retrieved over 50 Kanal of State land at prime locations worthcrores of rupees.
The Revenue and Police Officers/Officials headed by respective Tehsildars of Srinagar District conducted an anti-encroachment drive in all 7 Tehsils of the district including South Srinagar, Khanyar, North Srinagar, Shalteng, Chanapora, Eidgah and PanthaChowk.
Speaking about the anti-encroachment drive undertaken to preserve Government land, the DC Srinagar said anti-encroachment drives will continue in all the parts of the district to retrieve entire State and Kahcharai lands encroached by the land grabbers. He said involvement in land encroachment will be dealt with sternly as per the law.
The DC sought the cooperation of the general public in its action against encroachments and also warned of action under CrPC in matters of encroachment on State/kahcharie lands.
The DC also asked encroachers of State/Kacharie land to voluntarily relinquish the illegal possession else action as warranted under law shall be taken against them, besides retrieval of all such land will be taken by district administration.
Lauding the efforts of all the Tehsildars and their teams, the DC asked them to continue the anti-encroachment drives in their respective jurisdictions with added zeal and dedication so that all State/Kahcharie land is retrieved. He also asked them to activate their field staff for keeping proper check on each patch of Government land so that it does not encroach.
Meanwhile, the local people of these areas applauded the District Administration for removal of illegal possession on land and appealed for further action against all such encroachments.
